Ring, Bracelet & Chain Size Guide

Ring, Bracelet & Chain Size Guide

Measure at home, convert US to UK and EU, and know when to size up.

Measure a ring you already own

Take a ring that fits the intended finger and measure the inside diameter in millimetres with a ruler or calipers. Match it to the chart below. Measuring the outside diameter gives a size that is too large by the band thickness.

If you have no ring to measure, wrap a strip of paper around the finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length — that is the circumference. Do it at the end of the day, when fingers are slightly larger, and make sure the paper passes over the knuckle.

Half sizes are available on every ring we make. If you fall between two sizes, take the larger one for a wide band.

When to size up

  • Bands 5 mm and wider: add a quarter to half a size. The wider the band, the more surface it covers and the tighter it feels.
  • Comfort-fit interiors: these feel looser than a standard profile at the same size because the edges are rounded.
  • Knuckles wider than the base: size to pass the knuckle, then ask for sizing beads if the ring spins.
  • Stacking rings: three rings on one finger effectively add width — size for the stack, not for one ring.

Bracelet and chain lengths

Bracelets: measure the wrist snugly and add 12–18 mm for a comfortable fit. A tennis bracelet should sit on the wrist bone without sliding over the hand.

Necklaces: 16 inches sits at the base of the neck, 18 inches at the collarbone, 20 inches below it, and 24 inches on the chest. If you are layering, order the lengths together so the drops do not collide.

Free ring sizer

We can post a plastic ring sizer before you order — email service@holycome.com with your address. For custom pieces, the size is confirmed in writing before casting.
